PhotoDerm (VLPL) Heads

Internal Filter Installation Figure1.jpg (25197 bytes)     Internal Filter Installation Figure2.jpg (42412 bytes)

 1. Remove the old internal filter holder from the IPL treatment head
by removing the 2 screws   (screws "A" in Figure 1).

*** Make sure that no dust or particles get inside the IPL head ***

2. Loosen the 2 screws on each side of the holder (screws "B" in Figure 2).

3. The metal clips will now come off and you will be able to remove the OLD internal filter.

4. Place the NEW internal filter in its place.

*** Make sure that the coated/colored surface of the glass is facing UP (will be facing inside the IPL head when installed back) ***

5. Place the metal clips over the internal filter and tighten the screws on each side (screws "B").

6. Make sure the internal filter fits securely into the designated groove/area.

7. Wipe the glass surface with an alcohol swap and dry well with a clean dust free lens paper.

8. Make sure the glass is completely clean with no finger smudges or dust particles.

9. Use an air spray can to remove any small dust particles from the glass surface and from inside the treatment head.

10. Place back the internal filter holder into the IPL treatment head and tighten the 2 screws (screws "A").

NOTE: It is extremely important to avoid getting any dust particles on the internal filter or inside the treatment head.  Even the smallest dust particle can damage the internal filter from the inside once the treatment head is being used.

Once installed on the treatment head, avoid getting any gel or other materials on the internal filter glass.  Make sure that the internal filter glass is cleaned on a regular basis with a mild alcohol swab and lint free lens paper.  Avoid excessive rubbing or smudging of the internal filter with fingers.  Any dirt or gel on the outside of the internal filter will damage the glass and will lead to lower power output.
